What DayBrief is
DayBrief is a personal dashboard that connects to your Google account to show you your own email and calendar in one place, generate a short summary of your day, and let you manage tasks, notes, and events. This policy explains what data DayBrief accesses, why, and what it does and does not do with it.
What we access, and why
When you sign in with Google and grant permission, DayBrief accesses:
- Your basic profile (name, email address) — to identify your account and greet you.
- Your Gmail messages (read) — to display your inbox and to generate your daily brief. DayBrief reads message senders, subjects, and short previews.
- Sending email on your behalf — only when you explicitly write or approve a message and press send. DayBrief never sends email automatically.
- Your Google Calendar (read and write) — to show your events and to create or delete events when you ask.
How your data is used
Your email and calendar data is used solely to provide the features you see in the app: your inbox view, your calendar, and your daily brief. To generate the brief, limited email and event details (such as senders, subjects, and event titles) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the summary. This processing happens to serve your request and the content is not used to train models.
What we store
DayBrief stores as little as possible. We keep your task lists, notes, and app settings, and a short-lived cached copy of your most recent daily brief, associated with your account email. We do not store the full contents of your emails on our servers. Your Google access is held as a secure token used only to make requests you initiate.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use your Google data for advertising or for any purpose other than providing DayBrief's features to you.
- We do not send email without your explicit action.
Google API Services User Data Policy
DayBrief's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
You can disconnect DayBrief at any time from your Google Account permissions, which stops all further access. To have your stored tasks, notes, and settings deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove them.
